My wife and I found this opal cone on our very first vist to  Rainbow Ridge opal mine in the Virgin Valley, Nevada.  It has contra luz play of fire and you can see the little scales for the cone as well as the point  where it attatched to the limb. Mr. Hodson the mine owner said it was the find of a lifetime.
